Praxis

Last month, i took the praxis and passed all of them except the reading, i got a 170. So over break i took it a again and got a 171. GRR. It says on the paper they send home that the minimum required score is a 171, is that still passing or would i have to take it again? I really hope i don't because it is so hard to concentrate reading all the passages given. Can someone please let me know!?

  1. I seriously feel your pain. I took the praxis and passed the reading and math, but i failed the writting section by two points and i have to retake it by april first so i can apply to the COE. Good Luck on taking it again, i believe you need a 173 to pass and a 171 as a combine score if u scored over like 520 for all three test combine.

  2. I took my Praxis 1 in January and missed the required score for writing by one point, but luckily there is two ways to pass. One is to pass by getting the required passing scores for all 3 sections. The second way to pass is to have the minimum scores and then the 3 scores total 521 or more.

  3. I hated the praxis...It was probably worse than the SAT's. The place I went to was like fort knox also. Soon as I walked in, it was like they had to strip search me and empty my pockets and put everything in a locker. Then the lady got made because I wanted to use my own pencil. She yelled, "EVERYTHING MUST STAY IN HERE". So yeahhh, that was a bit unnecessary but I actually barely passed the writing with a 173, which I think is the minimum. Why do we have to take it anyway? We already took our SAT's to get in to Slippery Rock. Math reading and writing has NOTHING to do with health and phys ed.
